The Beauty Appointments You Should Make for Your Wedding

January 21, 2020

Barn Wedding North Texas

Barn Wedding North Texas

You know all the vendors that you need when you’re planning your big day, but what about the beauty appointments? Your favorite North Texas barn wedding venue has all the tips about the appointments you need before your big day!

  • Make sure to get that manicure and pedicure appointment chosen and figured out just a day or two before your wedding day! You don’t want your fingernails to have time to grow out between getting them done and your wedding day. On the same wavelength, you don’t want your toenail polish to have time to chip off, either!
  • About a week before, have a wax appointment scheduled. A week will give your body proper time to heal. This will also avoid any ingrown hairs while still not being grown out.
  • Around a month before your wedding day, schedule a hair appointment to get a trim, touch up color, or anything else you need or want done! This will give you time to get used to whatever changes you make, and will allow time if you need anything fixed. Whoever is doing your hair on your wedding day will also be able to practice on what your hair will really be like if you make changes far enough out.
  • Lastly, schedule a teeth cleaning and whitening a couple of weeks before. This will make sure your pearly whites are pearly white on your big day! You’ll be smiling huge all day long and you’ll want your teeth to be beautiful and shiny. You’ll thank yourself in twenty years when you’re looking back at pictures, as well.

You are so beautiful without any of these appointments. With that, let your choice of what beauty appointments be just that, your choice! We are so excited to see you looking beautiful for your wedding day at our barn!

Switch Up Your Look From Ceremony to Reception

January 14, 2020

Premier DFW Barn Venue

Premier DFW Barn Venue

Have you always dreamed of huge, beautiful dress on your wedding day? But on the flip-side want to dance all night long without being exhausted from your heavy dress? It is becoming more of a trend to change parts of your wedding day outfit from the ceremony to the reception. There are a couple of ways that it is easiest to do this, and our premier DFW barn venue wanted to share them with you!

  • The biggest change would be to switch your dress out for a different one! With this, you can keep a long dress that is just less fabric. This will keep you from being weighed down while you’re partying. You could also change to a shorter dress, or even a colored dress! Choose one that you still feel beautiful and comfortable enough in to dance the night away with your closest friends and family.
  • For a smaller change to your wardrobe, go for a shoe change! Take off those heels and put on some of your favorite shoes instead. Whether you go for a pair of Converse or your favorite sandals, comfort wins out. Keeping dancing shoes on will make sure you don’t step in anything that falls on the floor, as well! If you go with this change, be sure to tell your tailor about it so that they can prepare your dress properly.
  • Lastly, if you had your hair down for the ceremony, consider changing your hair to a simple updo. This will keep your hair from getting too sweaty and keep you a whole lot cooler all night. You will not regret this decision!

Whether you want to do a quick change between ceremony and reception or stay in the same outfit, we are so excited to have you at our barn! If you’re looking for your perfect venue, contact us for more information.

Beautiful Bouquet Alternatives

January 6, 2020

Terrell Barn Wedding

Terrell Barn Wedding

Do you want a unique twist in your wedding? Maybe you’ve never been a flower person? There are so many other options for what you can hold walking down the aisle! You can even have your bridesmaids match by carrying similar things.

  • Do you love hand stitching and embroidery? Carry an embroidery loop! This can have your last name, a special word, or an image on it. One really great thing about these is that they can be a DIY project with you and your best girls, or you can even support a local artist.
  • If you’re having a vintage inspired wedding, you could have everyone holding lanterns as they walk down the aisle before you. You can either search for vintage ones, or find some online at places like Etsy! This will nicely tie your vintage theme together.
  • If you like green plants rather than flowers, opt for everyone to carry a succulent! A succulent in a basket or small macrame bag would be a unique and beautiful twist on a whole bouquet. Your bridesmaids, and you, will be able to keep them afterwards, as well! Everyone will get to think about your big day when they water the plants.
  • Lastly, if you want your dog to be a part of your big day, walk him down the aisle with you! This is a great way to have your furry friend be a part of your big day and avoid holding a bouquet down the aisle! With this one, keep in mind how your animal acts with new people and in general. If you have a crazier dog, this may not be the best idea!

The Establishment Barn is excited to see how you celebrate your day in every way, including with what you carry! Contact us with questions about what we allow at our venue.

Dallas Barn Venue

Dallas Barn Venue

It is the weekend of your wedding at our Dallas barn venue and you’re going to get your nails done with your best girls! What should you get, though? We have a few ideas for you to make your nails be as neutral as you want or make them stand out as much as you’d like!

  • If you want something subtle, go for neutral pinks or skin tone colored nails. Not only will these be subtle, but they will be incredibly elegant, as well. You can do gel on your natural nails, or add some length to them.
  • Going a little further than fully neutral, champagne colored nails are another great and, overall, subtle choice. These get into the gold and rose gold colors and can compliment a cream colored or ivory dress incredibly well. If you want to make a color like this a little more fun, you can do a glittery version of these, too. They will catch the light just right and everyone will love them.
  • Having trouble finding a something blue? Make your nails your something blue! Choose a light blue or a pale blue and it will be the perfect something blue for your wedding day.
  • Lastly, there are so many nail artists that can do intricate designs on nails. If you want ombré nails or unique French tips this is the way to go. Even if you want some artwork or your favorite modern art piece on your nails for your big day, find a nail artist to go to! These will really stand out for your big day and everyone will be wondering where you go them done.

How to Choose Your Groomsmen

December 12, 2019

Terrell Barn Wedding Venue

Terrell Barn Wedding Venue

Choosing your groomsmen and best man for your wedding at our Terrell barn wedding venue shouldn’t be hard and definitely won’t be after these tips. Overall, think of your greatest friends; the ones that you want to stand by you while you commit to your fiancé. Keep reading for some great tips from The Establishment Barn and be sure to contact us to talk about having your wedding at our beautiful barn wedding venue.

  • Before you start thinking about who is going to be a groomsmen, have an estimated number that you’re shooting for! Typically the groomsmen and the bridal party match in size so that everyone has someone to walk down the aisle with.
  • When beginning to choose who will be a groomsmen, think about family first! If you have brothers or close cousins, think about adding them to your groomsmen first. Don’t only think of your family, though. If your spouse has a brother, think about adding him in! It will mean a lot to your fiancé and her family.
  • Lastly, choose friends that are reliable. The idea behind the wedding party is having people that you can count on backing your marriage. You want to be sure to choose the people in your life that will do that. Choose people who you envision to be in your life for a long time that you want to stand next to you as you make your commitment to your fiancé.
  • Don’t forget about choosing your best man, either! For your best man, choose your oldest and closest friend! That oldest and closest friend might be your brother, or maybe your first ever college roommate. This will most likely be the easiest choice and the one that will be the most effortless for you to make.

Premier DFW Wedding Venue

Your wedding is coming up and its time to make your perfect registry! You want to make sure to add everything that you want and need as a newlywed couple so that you don’t end up having to buy a bunch of things on your newly married budget. Your premier DFW wedding venue, The Establishment Barn, is here to give you the tips.

  • Add a newlywed fund to your registry! This will allow you to have some extra money after the wedding to get the things on your registry that are left that you really want! If there is nothing left on your registry, you’ll just have some extra money to do what you want to do with it. Whether you put it in savings, get a dog, or add it to your honeymoon fund, its all yours.
  • If you already have a lot of the small household things, make a furniture fund on your registry. This will let friends and family add amounts of money to specific furniture items on your registry. Lots of registry sites have this function including Target and Amazon! If you want a nice, new $1000 couch in your new apartment together, this is the perfect way to get started on getting it.
  • Don’t forget to put fun things on your registry, too! We all know that board games can get expensive, so knock off some of the ones that you want. Add a couple of board games or even some nerf guns. These will bring lots of fun throughout your marriage.

Now that you know exactly what to put on your registry, its time to take a look at our venue. Contact us today to find out what dates we have available for your upcoming wedding! The Establishment Barn would love to have you at our new DFW venue!

The Brunch Wedding Trend

Choice Texas Barn Wedding

Choice Texas Barn Wedding

Wedding trends come and go, but The Establishment Barn really hopes that this trend stays! As a hint, it is something that millennials just can’t get enough of: brunch. Brunch weddings have become immensely popular this year and have not gone out of style yet. We wanted to share with you why you should consider having a brunch wedding at our choice Texas barn wedding venue.

  • One plus to a brunch wedding is being able to serve brunch food. Whether you have fruit salad offerings, waffles, or breakfast tacos, everyone loves a good brunch menu. There are endless options to choose from for food at a brunch wedding! This also includes brunch drinks. Have mimosas as your speciality cocktails, or even a mobile coffee bar!
  • Another plus is being able to have your wedding in the daytime and have a chill rest of your day as newlyweds afterwards! You will not be rushing home or to the airport at 10pm, but rather, will be able to spend a solid amount of the evening and night just the two of you.
  • A brunch wedding is the perfect wedding for a couple who is more low-key. There most likely won’t be a huge dance party mid-day (unless you want there to be!). It is perfect for the couple who wants a more casual, laid-back wedding. Brunch weddings are also great for couples who want to have a tea-time vibe to their wedding day!

There are so many more reasons to have a brunch time wedding, and we would love to talk to you about them! Contact us to talk about your future wedding’s date and time today! We would love to be able to tell you what we have available in our booking for you and your fiancé.

Choosing Your Wedding Colors

November 21, 2019

Dallas Barn Wedding Venue

Dallas Barn Wedding Venue

Choosing your wedding colors shouldn’t be intimidating! As your favorite Dallas barn wedding venue, we have some tricks for you to use to choose the perfect colors for your wedding day. There are so many ways to create that perfect palette. The Establishment Barn wanted to help and narrow these options down for you so that it would be easier for you to figure out from.

  • Take inspiration from nature! Nature’s color palettes complement each other so beautifully already, so take colors from this. For example, use the colors of a forest! A few shades of green, a light blue, and some natural creams or browns would create a beautiful, forest-y palette. This same principle can be used with anything in nature. It has already done the color palette for you.
  • Look to your favorite colors for inspiration. If your favorite color is pink and your spouse’s favorite color is blue, look to different shades to see which would go together to create the perfect color palette! This will make the colors of your wedding extra special when you look back on it in years to come.
  • Lastly, take inspiration from the season you’re having your wedding in! For a fall wedding, use burnt oranges or rust reds. For a winter wedding, use navy blue. For a spring a summer wedding, bust out the brighter colors and the pastels. Nothing is wrong or basic about using the current season as inspiration for your color palette inspiration.

Are you still in the beginnings of planning for your wedding and looking for a venue? The Establishment Barn would love to talk to you about open dates that we have for the next few seasons! Feel free to contact us today to get the conversation going about your dream wedding.

Building Your Guest List Like a Pro

November 12, 2019

Premier DFW Barn Wedding Venue

Premier DFW Barn Wedding Venue

Are you trying to figure out your guest list at our premier DFW barn wedding venue? We have the best tips for you to build your guest list like a pro! Keep reading to see how we can help you.

To start, make your dream list of all of your guests. Don’t worry about how many are on this list. You will be able to narrow it down and make separate sections later on. For now, you have to only make the dream list!

Now that you have your dream list, its time to organize your potential guests into different lists: A and B. This will help you to organize who you definitely want at your wedding and who you would be alright with not being there. Once this is done, you can send out invitations to list A, and when you begin to get cannot attends, you can take from your list B who you want to fill in. This will make it easier on you to keep everything and everyone organized.

Know that you don’t have to invite everyone! Just because you have one coworker that you love doesn’t mean that you have to invite all 20 of your coworkers. The same goes with extended family. Your wedding doesn’t have to be a family reunion, either. Even if your grandmother insists on inviting all of your third cousins, you don’t have to. It is your wedding and your guest list. Keeping this in mind will help you to lower the guest list and be realistic about who you want to come and who you do not want to come.

If you have questions about how many guests our venue can hold or available dates, we would love to talk with you! Contact us today.

Best venue EVER! Not only is it absolutely stunning inside and out with attention to detail, but the owner is so sharp and helpful! It is so new, so all the amenities are flawless. We were able to come in on Friday and set up all of our decorations and tables, which made it possible to have a very relaxing Saturday while getting ready. Sara, the owner, met with us one month out and gave us such great planning suggestions and help ease our last minute stress. After the wedding, all of our friends RAVED about how gorgeous the venue was! Also, the bridal suite is massive and so pretty! Perfect for a large bridal party! I would recommend 1000 times.

- Kamryn Taylor

My daughter was married at the Establishment Barn on June 1. The venue is absolutely beautiful! The design is amazing. Sara thought of every detail to create a bride's dream wedding experience! The bridal suite is very large and beautifully decorated. The groom's room was awesome too. The entire venue is spacious and just amazing, inside and out! Sara has a very calming nature and is wonderful to work with. She really helped my daughter and I through the process by answering any question we had and sharing recommendations with us. If you're looking for a wedding venue, or any type of event, go visit! You will fall in love!

- Kim McEnturff

"My husband and I just had our wedding this past weekend and we couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Besides it being an absolute gorgeous venue, the service was spectacular. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that our day was everything we’ve dreamt of and more."

- Haylee Cano

The owners, Sara & Austen are two of the friendliest people you’ll come to know! Their energy and passion for hosting dream weddings was evident from day one. Sara made me feel comfortable and valued during our first tour. She understood that weddings are EXPENSIVE and IMPORTANT! She accommodated to all of our needs and answered my questions throughout the planning process. On our wedding day, staff was available to assist us when needed. Everything went so smoothly and it truly was the perfect day in the most beautiful venue! Having an outdoor AND indoor option was especially important to us as well. You will have that here! The bridal suite is a MUST SEE. It’s spectacular!! Sara & Austen do honor first responders AND nurses by providing a discount on your big day. We would recommend this couple AND this venue over and over again!

- McKenna LeCroy

"The space is absolutely incredible! You will definitely get your dream wedding and more here! Not to mention the owners are the greatest. They are organized, timely, and super creative. Best venue of the South!"

- Caylee Taylor

"My daughter's wedding was absolutely perfect! The Establishment Barn is a beautiful venue and Sarah, The Establishment Barn's owner was amazing! Sarah was so helpful and easy to work with...she ensured my daughter had the wedding of her dreams!"

- Jani Mansour

I would recommend Sara and her beautiful Barn in a heart beat. The venue is amazing and the bride/groom suites are unlike anything you have seen. It is a bit of a drive (we live in Dallas) but with the help of bus shuttles taking everyone out, it was perfect and so worth the drive. Sara was super sweet and helpful with her quick responses and vendor recommendations!

- Diana Knee

"Beautiful venue. Great owners and staff. Our day was better than I ever could’ve dreamed and a lot of that was thanks to the Establishment. I highly recommend this venue!"

- Claire Brewer

What can I say... this venue is a little slice of heaven tucked away in the woods. From beginning to end the process was professional and flawless, thanks to the Owner of the barn, Sara.

Sara went out of her way to have a friend run to get a Bundt cake when my cake girl was unresponsive and late. She let us use the barn and the bridal suite for my bridals which turned out beautiful. My guests RAVED about how beautiful it was. Close (11 miles) to some brand new very clean, nice hotels in Terrell - they even decorated our room the night of our wedding! I loved that I didn’t need to bring much decor because the barn’s beauty was enough! We were able to get there super early in the morning to start getting ready and relax in the upstairs oasis - it was just perfect. Can’t say enough - really.

- Lauren Barrett

The Establishment Barn and Sara (the owner) are so wonderful, it’s going to be hard to put into words how perfect and amazing everything was for our wedding. If you are looking for a great wedding venue, look no farther than The Establishment Barn. It truly is a hidden gem and I can’t imagine having my wedding any other place.

The Establishment Barn is a hidden gem just one hour east of Dallas. The property is beautiful and the barn itself is amazing. There is a beautiful and very large bridal suite upstairs and the groom’s suite is downstairs. There is a large kitchen for the caterer and a spacious area for cocktail hour.

Sara was so easy to work with and was very responsive anytime my wedding coordinator or myself had a question. She made herself available on a Sunday afternoon so my wedding coordinator and I could tour the venue together to discuss how everything was going to be setup. She was there during the setup up and our entire wedding, helping our coordinator if needed. She even texted me the day of my wedding saying congratulations and to savor the day because it’s going to be a day we will remember forever.

- Megan Crow

The Establishment Barn was incredible. The owner, Sara, was so easy and fun to work with! The venue was gorgeous! The bridal suite is to die for! Best day ever! Best venue

- Maurie Roos
