DFW Barn Venue
Catering for as many people as you will have at your DFW barn venue wedding is hard enough before you take food allergies into account. Luckily, it is not as complicated as it seems it would be! Catering to your friend’s and family’s allergies does not mean that you have to have one menu that is fully gluten, dairy, and nut free. It just means labeling, knowing restrictions, and having some options. Let’s talk about how you can easily make your wedding allergen friendly.
- Firstly, know the allergies that your guests have! These are easy to collect, just have a section on your RSVP that asks if guests have any food allergies that you should know about. From there, you can begin piecing your alternate options for food together.
- Make sure to label everything at your reception! If you’re having a buffet style dinner, label all of the ingredients in each dish and/or label if they are gluten free, dairy free, or anything else free! This will make it easier for everyone and take all the wondering out of whether or not someone can eat something.
- Do you not know how to make the dishes you’re planning to have at your wedding allergen friendly? Make your hors d’oeuvres allergen free! Have a couple of options that are dairy free, a couple that are nut free, some that are gluten free, and then some that are a mix! This way, even if someone has an allergy, they can still eat something.
- Don’t forget about allergen friendly desserts, either! Maybe you don’t want a fully gluten free cake? Talk to your baker about making some gluten free cookies for those guests that can’t have gluten. Dessert is easy to forget in this regard, but everyone wants dessert, even if they have an allergy!
